We comply with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and SHWW General Applications Regulations 2007, S.I. No. 299. We ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, the safety health and welfare of all our employees when at work, and to we provide all information, training and supervision.

Compliance

What does compliance mean? The essential element of compliance for our customers is to meet their obligations under Health & Safety Regulations, Legislation and Law and Best Practice.

Best Practice is the method, process or activity that is believed to be more effective at delivering a safer outcome than any other technique, method, process, etc. We partake in regular Expert Exchanges in conjunction with key industrial technical societies and are continuously updating our Knowledge Base on issues such as inspection best practices for specific equipment types.

Many Injury Awards following workplace accidents from Irish Courts are based on what the company did to comply with Health & Safety Regulations, Legislation and Law but also what was done to comply with reasonably practicable Best Practice.

Accident Investigations

Every accident is caused by a breakdown in one of four areas: the worker, the tools used, the materials used, or the methods used.

Often there is a breakdown in at least two areas; one being the worker and the other coming from one of the three other areas. The accident's cause usually results from an unsafe act or an unsafe condition.

One of the most important aspects of accident investigation is determining the underlying causes of the accident. Often, people stop the investigation too early, forgetting that each main cause may have several underlying causes.

Determining the cause of workplace accidents is extremely important and can ultimately reduce your liability to injured parties, while also determining the root cause and long term solutions.

Safety Assessments

Systematic process for assessing the hazards & risks. One way of ensuring that action is taken before a disaster occurs is the use of a process known as formal safety assessment.

Ellickson Engineering provides a rational and systematic process for assessing the hazards & risks associated with your equipment and for evaluating the costs and benefits of options for reducing these risks.
