The Ellickson Sliding door system can also be supplied with a break-out facility which allows users to push the doors open safely and easily in the event of an emergency situation. The wings and side panels are equipped with precision pivot fittings for safe and simple swing out to provide unrestricted full width egress and upon emergency completion, simply swing the leaves and click back into place and resume normal sliding operation with no reset required. The door is also ideal for when a temporary wide entry is required such as a car showroom where you want bring cars into the showroom but want the door to perform normally as pedestrian access.

The Ellickson Engineering Fire Resistant Roller Shutter door is designed for up to 4 hour fire resistance.
The fire resisting door criteria is conditional on adherence to specification for fire walls and precise requirement for door activation.

The Fire Roller Shutter Door must be tested in accordance with BS476: Part 22: 1987 (Method 8) by the Loss Prevention Council, at the Technical Centre, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire (Test Report No. TE 85413) to give up to 4 hours fire resistance.
The door as tested must include self-closing controlled descent solenoid unit, the operation of which was witnessed by the L.P.C. and included in their Test Report No. TE 85413.
The Shutter Curtain is to be constructed from 18 SWG (minimum) curved section galvanised steel interlocking laths, all bolted to suitable mild steel tube roller assembly and supported at high level between mild steel end brackets bolted to the structure. The shutter curtain must run within 75mm x 50mm x 6mm thick (minimum) rolled steel angles and be bolted to the structure. The complete door is to be driven through steel cut gears with all components other than shutter curtain finished in one coat grey primer. Steel end locks to be included at each lath end. Lath to be 75mm galvanised concave section.
Galvanised 18swg canopy to be included. End plates to be bolt fixed to steelwork by means of 14mm high strength steel bolts. End plates to be a minimum of 4mm steel.
MANUAL by means of pull cord disengage device to give controlled descent closing and opening by means of a galvanised steel haul chain. Please note that opening a manually operated door is a slow process due to the gearing of the controlled descent operator, and if the door is used on a regular basis, we strongly recommend that an electric operator is used.
ELECTRICAL by means of 415 volt, 3 phase supply drive motor, with emergency pull cord disengage device to give controlled descent closing. A galvanised steel haul chain will provide opening in the event of power failure.
Self closing by means of thermal fusible link activated at a temperature of 68oC or mechanically re-setable solenoid device connected to the fire alarm/smoke detector system by others.
Galvanised or powdercoated to a selected Ral colour.
