In recent years security requirements at airports have become a good deal tighter, mainly due to the increase in global terrorism. Having analysed the risk levels at these locations, it is clear that they require solutions that take into consideration individual security and safety requirements, as well as relevant budget limitations. A pragmatic process of decision making is recommended when estimating the required level of security in any given situation. In order to meet these various demands, designs with a high degree of modularity are to be favoured, which will also provide a better return on investment. Mechanical construction and functionality, which feature a high degree of modularity, have been especially developed to simplify maintenance.
